I love the two and their voices, and attitudes but sometimes i wish they would start writing songs that celebrate life and feelings of happiness rather than taking us down into their introspective angst. I feel as though each and every fan has a personal relationship with the two simply because their songs share the deep dark emotions of Tegan and Sara, but frankly, i don't come out of their songs feeling good. I just feel like i want to meet tegan and sara and weep with them. but we can't. we can only see them in person and lose our selves in their own anguish.
Can they make songs that are a little more upbeat?

It is easier to tell someone something if you write it to them rather than telling them in person. I think the same is true at writing music. They are really quite funny when they are talking to each other or other people. So, what makes the "real" Tegan and Sara? What they write, or what they talk about?

Really? I think I'd stop listening if their songs became all upbeat and stuff... it's like you have to be happy around everyone else, but when you're alone and listening to music, you can actually feel and react... Tegan and Sara's music is perfect for that. I guess it just depends on your personality type and stuff, if you're really expressive all the time, music might be more of a pump-up time for you that lifts your spirits and not all of Tegan and Sara's songs are like that at all.
