Okay, I was sneaky, but I'm curious to know what bands/ musicians everyone here is into. Take this to mean your favourites or simply stuff you've had on repeat for weeks. If you feel like specifying songs or giving a little synopsis of the band or album or whatever that's cool too. Thanks.

There are tons of bands I'm into, but two that I've been listening to alot lately are the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (Gold Lion's a great song!) and Ghost Buffalo, who not many people I know have heard of. I can list others if you want me to.

Broken Social Scene - Not really new but I still listen to them a lot.
Cuff The Duke - They have a weird country-ish sound but I really like their latest album. "The Ballad Poor John Henry" and "Take My Money and Run" are the stand out tracks for me. Wilco - I'm always listening to them on and off. Mostly Yankee Hotel Foxtrot right now. |

I'm currently listening to a Burning Spear record (Soul Jazz compilation) and even though I've never been big into reggae this is some good shit. I don't like all of it but some of these tunes are way smooth; Call On You, Down By The Riverside, CREATION REBEL!, Swellheaded etc. |

the Sounds. Their album "Dyin To Say This To You" is great. I always describe them as being a mix of the Go Go's and Tegan and Sara. I recommend Living in America and Much Too Long.

i have been on a dashborad confessional kick. specifically i have been listening to their album 'the places you have come to fear the most' over and over again. i absolutely love the song 'the best deceptions' off of the album.

Smashing Pumpkins and Dinosaur Jr. came back this year. Both bands still sound as raw as ever.

Incubus is my favorite band (up there with Tegan and Sara). They are simply amazing. I'm going to their show on Friday. Me=excited.
Some of my other favorites are Norah Jones and The Dixie Chicks. Currently, I've been into: Tegan and Sara - The Con (the whole CD) Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever to Tell (Pretty much just the song "Maps") Tilly and the Wall - Bottoms of Barrels (mostly "Lost Girls", but I like a few of the others as well) |
